Would like to get inside of boat cleaned ready for this year.

After our rather sooty year the carpets, upholstery and headling need a good clean.

Can anyone recommend someone in the Hythe area?

Thank you

Joanne

Paying someone to clean your boat is generally not considered to be a good idea, particularly in the Hythe area and all sorts of problems can arise from it. Boats have been known to end up dirtier than before the cleaners started....Ummnn.... very very bad idea indeed and should be avoided.

Far better to save the money and put towards plotting software and fire extinguishers etc....

I am sure that EVERYONE on the forum will agree with me so please save your poor husband's hard earnt cash...

Nicholas,

I do not want the out side of the boat cleaned, I am quite happy for you to do that.

As for plotting equipment etc. I think we could navigate our way to the moon with everything you've bought recently so we definately don't need to spend any more money there!

Of course we could always get the boat re-upholstered and recarpeted with completely new stuff.

Its up to you?

I toatally agree with you. Though I wouldn't pay anyone to do it when you have a perfectly useful husband hanging around doing nothing. I mean why go spend a good couple of hundred on a cleaner when you could spend the money on a pair of shoes or put it towards a new outfit.

How do you two ever agree on anything? Check your profiles, you and Joanne can't even agree on the age of your children!

Re: Spring Cleaning Carpet offered

Umm, does anyone want any Fairline carpet? In our now traded-in boat, the Phantom 42, we had the off white berber carpet. Foam backed stuff. There was a problem and fairline gave us a new roll, but this was a mix up and we didn't need it. So I have a roll all wrapped up in plastic in my garage, very soon to go to the tip. The roll is about 5 feet wide, dunno the lenght, a couple of metres I spose. So, irritatingly, not quite a whole boat's worth. But if anyone has the official fairline white berber, it should match perfickly. Pictures here, http://www.geocities.com/fairlinephantom42/interior.html Any takers out there?

Available Bucks or Chichester, btw

PS , come to think of it, I also have a roll of the blue tartan stuff in the pics to recover the sofas, it came with the boat. Anyone want that too? Heck, you just need a colvic hull and you could make your own boat from all these bits

Re: Spring Cleaning Carpet offered

I could be doing with that!! Dear old Solitaire needs some new carpet inside I could pick up from Chichester. !!

Re: Spring Cleaning Carpet offered

Me too - can we go 50-50. 23 foot + 21 foot is about 42 - isnt it !!!

Or was that the "ultimate question"

Now. if you hadn't bought the new telly, you would have had time to clean the boat and give Nick the money for a new GPS, radar, charts, engine overhaul, coolant system overhaul, props, etc...........

Don't you just love a male chauvenist pig!! Besides, Nick bought me a pint the other night!! Have to support his arguement don't I?
