Spreading my wings - Porth Dinllaen via Bardsey Island

At least with Bardsey you rarely have to stay in the worst of it for long. You can be in the South Stack for ages with the only option to be five miles out to sea.

or very very close inshore

Its me, or whats left of me. It was like Das boot crashing through the waves. Went through Tudwals etc and all was fine till i turned up after Bardsey. I slowed from 6 knots to 1 or even less. The boat was fine but crew got tossed around. I think I got the timing wrong. But surprised the turning after Bardsey was the worst. Huge waves.

Could that be because you met a wind against tide. At least it has given you even more comfort in your boat in bad conditions

Still a few high spots. I would hold off if there LW-2 (unless neaps) but go for it after tide turns
Don't cut the corner at the harbour entrance......go through the middle of the two yellow buoys and then aim for channel (narrow....don't go to close to trots .....some silt there)
When you get to third green marker post by the training wall.....aim toward partingtons shop (red can near trots).....it's further over than when you were based at Pwllheli
Another low bit near the last row of boat opposite the fuel pontoon and another off walkway 5

Keep in middle of channel and no sweat.it's pretty much 24 hours, but we draw 2.1 m and allow a bit of extra! So for us it's no go generally LW-2 to +1

Not there this week or next...off to sibs. Have a good trip
