Nyachilwa apparently believes she is a submarine. Today we were out in the Swale, and off Whitstable/Herne Bay, it was like being firehosed. I have good oilskins but a small sprayhood would be a help. However, I dont want a big clunky pram hood with loads of tubes and framing, just a snug little design with minimum poles/framework.

Does anyone have any good examples, photos or ideas?

You will have difficulty in getting a sprayhood to both look good and be effective, partly because of the raised hatch and partly because of the low boom. You could have a hood just over the hatch, but might not be able to fit under the boom. I have one of these on a modern boat and am about to replace it with a full width one as it is useless for keeping spray out of the cockpit. A full width one might look out of proportion with the rest of the boat. Suggest you go to a professional for ideas and quote - they are more likely to know what works.
