There are two unusual things in the pic (at least), one to do with my normal boating and one to do with the UK's normal boating.

PS - it isn't the ball fender so carelessly left on deck by SWMBO, she just couldn't be a**ed to bring it in <g>

Yep, quite right - firstly pootling along at displacement speed between Plymouth and Salcombe and secondly it was so flat that without thinking I plonked the cup on the slippery chart table and it stayed there unmoving.

I got a 3 knot push from the tide approaching Bolt Head, a 50% boost on my speed through the water.

Also yes, there is a chart table and I used to have the waterproof folio charts out for each trip, but in the last couple of years I've got lazy and don't bother.

And the port engine running hotter than SB?
Looks to be close to the red lined area if it is the gauge to the right of the coffee cup...

Phew, no thank goodness. The temps on both were 85'ish (VP cleaned the heat exchangers earlier in the year, now stays around 90C even at 36knts).

The dials are a bit of a nuisance, cos some are paired and some are not. The order goes (you can see 1-8) :

1 Fuel Port
2 Fuel S'bord
3 Charging Port
4 Charging S'bord
5 Temp Port
6 Oil Pressure Port
7 Warning Port
8 Revs Port
9 Revs S'bord
10 Warning S'bord
11 Oil Pressure S'bord
12 Temp S'bord
