Hint: forget the posh ones, and focus on the two really elegant yachts.
And nope, she ain't the SD112. The other one.

As an aside, who needs a drone, when the marina is right along the glide path? :D

Blimey J, that was fast.
Next time I'll ask to spot all the OTHER boats in the pic, tug included! :D

On second thought, I might as well add a few other aerial pics, for good measure.

The first was also taken upon landing in CA, and shows the dock which is being used by the Luna Rossa team.
For doing God knows what if I'm honest, but they usually seem rather busy.

The other two were taken during the flight, but unfortunately the sky was cloudy above the nicest spots in Corsica and N Sardinia, and these were the only clear ones, just to wet your appetite.
I'm not asking to name those places, sure as I am that the whole SoF gang (and possibly others) know them as the back of their hands!

Nice pics! The first high altitude shot is of calvi in NW Corsica and the second must have been taken only 2 minutes later because it shows Crovani beach to the right and Valeria to the left.

Many a meet up has taken place in these places. Crovani is the moonscape-ish place at 2.00-2.20 in this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-10hYALKaAQ And 2.20 onwards till 3.00 was shot in the corner of the big right angled bay above calvi marina in your first pic.

The reason it's got two helipads is because ... three was excessive! :D

good thinking J, makes sense.
I thought the two were necessary in altering the balance by moving the heli to the bow in order to plane with less tabs on and/or save a few gallons of diesel.
was obviously wrong I bow to your supreme knowledge

Nice CDM btw. I know the hunger for the Super-Giga yachts is huge and stupid, really do not know what to make of it tbh, of these 100 meters plus are stupid IMO.

What the sense of a yacht if you have a hundred crew running around you.

ha ha I like that :)
what is the trawler on our quay? is it a CDM ?
I'll check tomorrow if she's still there.

the pic looks a bit grey due to cloudy weather I guess, But we love this marine,
at 10min taxi drive to the airport, or 300m walk to the railway station - first stop at 6 min is the airport !
just crossing that boulevard is the center of Cagliari old town, one long street with many Italian/ Sardinian ! restaurants,
despite frequent visits, we have not yet been able to try all the resto's that have been advised ;-)
and almost forgot to mention about the decent prices, in town aswell as the marina
@Deleted User, we haven't had one issue with security, and the marina is very helpfull !

Yup, I couldn't agree more about megayachts being offensive, sort of. Trouble is, we live in a sick world...
And actually, also leaving aside these floating castles for UHNWIs, which are obviously excessive from each and every standpoint, it's hard to define an objective border between reasonable luxury (so to speak) and sheer madness, if you think about it.
I mean, to myself a 100' boat (FEET, not meters!), on top of obviously needing crew which I'd rather not have, is already way OTT.
Otoh, pretty sure there are folks who consider even my own 56' an insult to the poor, regardless of the fact that she's actually the single place where we spend most of our time, and in this sense smaller than most homes...

Ref. the CDM, I made the same mistake when I saw her while landing, but she's actually a Bandido.
Not sure of the model, but she seems built to exploit the 24m rule to the fullest, so I would guess somewhere in between 80 and 90 feet.
For comparison, the blue hull AZ on stbd side of BA is a 95.
Anyway, not my cup of tea by any stretch of imagination, in spite of my soft spot for D boats.
Aside from being rather disproportionate in flesh, just a glance from the dock at how the transom doors are built was enough to understand that she's right at the opposite extreme of the build strength scale vs. a CDM.
Makes me wonder if the builder thought that all those doors should withstand is the rain... :ambivalence:

Still here as I'm writing, but I'm sure you will not be impressed (see previous reply to PYB).
See U tomorrow! :encouragement:

On the same theme,
folks on here might recognise this coastline,
some might even recognise themselves on the pic when zooming in
picture was made this morning,

and now the same place as the pic in post nr 1
with a bit of morning sunshine
