Does anyone have rescent experiance of the Tremlett Sportsman , the Bayliner Trophy or similar deep V sport/fishing boats ? I am looking to move up to a deep V fast fishin / overnighter (stern drive), trailable behind a large 4*4, for use off the west coast of Scotland . Most of the other UK boats I have seen are rather plain and the Europeans seem to favour small shaft drive diesels. Unless I can come up with a better idea I am considering a personal import from the US . I am not too bothered about the CE issue.
 
Tremletts

You won't go far wrong with a tremlett hull, excellent sea keeping but the fit out may need some attention. Some of the French boats may also be worth a look, over the channel there are thousands of them that seem to go out in almost all weathers.

I've got a proverbiale poo house as byron calls it. What can i say about it. Its a 21 sportsman of 1988 vintage. Its never given any suprises as to build quality as the layup is quiet substantial. The sea keeping qualities still astound me, it takes what ever gets thrown at it and feels solid in a seaway. Down points... weighs a ton, i need the range rover to tow it, a good one will hold its money, a home completed one will be quiet cheap, but take a good look at it, and they are fairly power hungry,
 
How sporty is sports? Antares/Jeaneau make fairly fast fishing boats that seem to have a good reputation for seaworthynessness.

In fact, I'm in the process of importing an Antares 860 which cruises at 20kt & tops at about 25 with twin 130 diesels on shafts. In fact, in fact, look out for a BURGEE on Loch Sween near the Castle when you're up there Mike. I've had to buy a boat to put one on. (And before I get the 'where's your cheque' from the fraternity, I'm not tempting fate by accepting the burgee first and the boat after . . . just another few weeks hlb)

Anyone for a Fletcher Arrowhawk bowrider, 200hp???

In this range you have Beneteau, Ocqueteau, Jeanneau, Guy Marine, Quicksilver, Arvor B", Balt, Kelt (White Shark) and Mery Nautic just to name a few.

Thanks for all the thoughts, I will certainly try to arrange a demo in the Tremlett and one of the French boats .
Has anyone experiance of the Bayliner Trophy range ?
I will also phone the contact suggested.
Hope to see Attew on Loch Sween ,I will be there first 2 weeks July & middle 2 weeks August.
 
I've a Bayliner 2556 but I don't think you will be towing her without some thing very beefy. Take a look at the Bayliner 2452 which should do all you need.
