Hi - for those who know me - and for those who don't - is anyone interested in sponsoring me for the Moonwalk?

I've committed to doing the Moonwalk (half marathon distance) on 11th May with my friend Jenny from my bookgroup. Training starts this weekend!

Luckily my employer will double everything I raise up to £500.

I am doing this walk in the name of my cousin Sara. Sara discovered her breast cancer when she was 6 months pregnant. She had a single mastectomy 4 weeks later and was induced at 36 weeks giving birth to Jessica. She had 4 weeks rest before starting chemotherapy in mid December and - touch wood - all is well so far.

Thanks everyone - I will post pictures and news on the fundraising website as we go along.

Rushing through the website to the sponsor page I didn't look at the images on the home page....

It this how you're going to be dressing Lisa? Def need pictures!!! ;)

thanks! First training walk this weekend - my knees are already moaning. Still, it will be good for me. It WILL be good for me!

And a very worthwhile cause.

have to confess, that when I signed up for it, I didn't realise it was supposed to be a POWER walk. I thought it would be a leisurely stroll through the park. :o What fun! I thought.

FYI - well I took part in the Moonwalk on Saturday night and it was flipping awful. Got soaking wet, freezing cold, my bra itched, my dodgy knee ached, my upper thigh throbbed, had hysterical tears at 8.5mile mark at 3.30am. I genuinely can't believe how difficult it was and it must be because it's in the middle of the night. By the time I got home, I'd been up and active for 27 hours. But I have survived and am happy to say that the people who sponsored me have raised nearly £1,200!

I met some very inspiring people on the night - many survivors of breast cancer and many people who are currently receiving help and support from the agencies that Moonwalk help to fund. It was very moving too. There was a minute silence for three women who last October signed up for the London Moonwalk with full expectation of being well enough to be there, but died. It really is a worthwhile cause that touches too many people.

Thank you to everyone here who sponsored me.

as promised, here's the photo. :o My boobs are really not that big - I swear it was the piles of tinsel!!

Must admit I did wonder whether you'd manage it given how much pain you were in just a few weeks ago! Respect!

No wonder your bra itched though if you filled it with tinsel on the inside as well
