Splicing an ethernet cable

I will probably get shot down for this but if you use a leaf spring mini connector like phoenix screw ot the lever type inside a die cast box below deck by the mast you can pull the wires through without any connector.

This would allow you to pull the cable through the deck gland of swan neck easy with no connector on the cable.

Check out Neutrik Ethercon connectors, they take standard RJ45 connectors, you would need either a back to back out chassis mounted socket for the other connector I don't think they do a cable mounted socket.

It’s just a plastic coupler with a pair of weathertight shrouds either side. It fits over ordinary RJ45s and seals around the cable. It’s narrower than most which is why I chose it, to fit between my headlining and the deck.
