Splash -anyone on here going ?

Ooooh I like him.....
Okay its the big Splash http://www.thebigsplash.com/
Are you going to either Gary?

not so sure about the first Roy, there's a similar bar down the road from where we live but the experience has yet to rub off on me:D

the Big Splash event is a definite possibility, I'm on hols the preceeding wek so would be a good way to finish it off... am I missing something, the news section suggests £160 per boat under 40ft yet clicking on the book tickets link, it goes up to £275... must be missing something, will keep reading

edit: I was reading the news archive, doh... either extras this year or there's something of a price hike going on

Just to clear up the price discrepancy: last year it cost £160 for a boat under 40ft but you then had to pay £60 per adult for a ticket that would cover your food. This year the £275 price tag includes two adult tickets, so in fact it's £5 cheaper.

Big Splash 2011

Hi Roy, glad to see your spreading the good word on the Big Splash.

Anyway, It was a great event last year and good value for money.
It's amazing how the Cowes event centre is transformed for the Evening Functions.

Its a full fun packed 3 days and 2 nights with activities for adults and children throughout the day, and then into the party celebrations in the evenings.
The uptake for this year is already tremendous so the event is going to be well supported with fellows from last year and newbies who have heard the word.
Good value, good fun and good company.

For those contemplating the event then take a look at the wbsite which is interactive @ http://www.thebigsplash.com/

Still think the pricing is a bit odd.

Boat <40ft @ £275 inc VAT, to include 2 tickets
Boat 40ft - 49ft @ £310 inc VAT, to include 2 tickets
Boat 50ft plus @ £345 inc VAT, to include 2 tickets

Is this to discourage smaller boats?

Clive, thanks very much for your understanding regarding giving my sister's wedding priority... for those considering going to the event, I'd strongly recommend sending a pm to Clive, you'll not be disappointed with the outcome.

Gutted I can't go as it looks set to be one hell of a fun weekend, enjoy:cool:

Yup - we're going with a few others from PS. There's an S34 (us) an S38 and I think an F34 although the latter may turn up late but their crew will be there from tmrw night.

Planning to be there tomorrow night to "settle in". Nearly left the boat there last Sunday when we were having a few overheating issues - now fixed.

See you there.

Mat

I'll be there with the family, got our Bollywood outfits already!

Not been before but heard it is a good do.

I'm a Sealine SC38, "Joy-Sea" come and say hello, be good to put some faces to some forum nicknames.
