Eeeeeee what a lovely day out: Son and his girlfriend joined me for a lovely run from Reading to Temple Island.... Moorings at the Angel all to ourselves... Couple of pints of Gold and some lunch aboard.... And highlight of the day was what to me looked and sounded like a Spitfire doing loops and very low dives over Fawley area....

The suns shining as we speak and I have a cool Doom Bar in the garden.....

Loverly....

Bum, Bum,Bum

I've always wanted to visit but can never find out when Fawley is open of special events - until it's too late..
Not being a local I don't see any adverts.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Nip onto the BBMF website they issue a list of all events featuring the WW11 aircraft in their collection.
For real saddos...go onto the GAA website and fnd the NOTAM link. This lists everything in the sky, unfortunately this also includes umpteen cranse and masts etc etc.It will however also list when your local golf club has a flyby probably cos somebody on the committee has a son flying in the Red Arrows and for some mysterious reason it will pass over the 19th on its way back from some display or other.

Some years ago we went and, IIRC, flying there was Carolyn Grace in her two-seater Spitfire. Great to be so close - visually and aurally!
