Spirit stoves - Origo no more?

Just went to check the price of an Origo spirit stove... and discovered they are out of stock / discontinued everywhere I looked. Is this a permanent halt to production?

Where to go for an alternative? (let's just take it as read that for whatever irrational reason I don't want to install gas. We don't want this to be a gas/no gas debate thread, now do we?)

I just did a search (past year) on Spirit stoves - Origo and found stacks of them for sale? (Dometic may have an association with them)

Amazon may still have some old stock?

If you click on any of the links or try Amazon I think you will find that nobody has stock and most of them report it as discontinued

I'm fairly confident it won't need much maintenance, so it should see me through a good few years.

We bought ours used for about £120 in geat condition so if you want one its wortb putting the feelees out on social media pages etc

I bought mine from an online campervan/motorhome place, where the exact same Origo 3000 was about £100 less than anywhere with the word "marine" in its name.

Take a look at this Youtube video by 'Sailing Magic Carpet' They have found that the Origo 3000 is still available direct from the manufacturers in Sweden:

See from about 6.13 minutes. Try leaving them a message and see if they can send you the link to the website.

Is there an alternative out there for the origo range of alcohol stoves? There's nothing on dometic's site other than an those bloody awful gas hobs they do, the ones combined with a sink. Why would they stop making them? Daft.......

Trangia meths stoves are widely available at go outdoors.
I prefer gas, it's much more controllable.

Second Trangia with the gas conversion, never got on with my meths Origo! A lot of folk I know use those simple gas stoves with one gas canister about £20, simple, effective, job done... buy a new one every couple of years when they start rusting.
