After booking a few nights at a hotel on Lake Windermere I noticed from the blurb that within walking distance of the hotel is the charter boat 'Spirit of the Lake'. This rang a bell and from what I can remember it's a Squadron 55. However, when I clicked on the link for the Spirit web site nothing happened. Anyone know if this boat still in business? Is it worth doing?

Yes "Spirit" Was a squadi 55 but it stopped doing business (Along with the associated RYA training school) about 2 Years ago.

With the exception of small day boats (Old Shetland 535's) and the usual put put's theres nothing else to hire by the day.

IT might be worth talking to "Holidays Afloat" to see if they have any boats not on hire that they might let you have.

Like wise Winderemere marina village for the Birchwood that they are tring to sell shared ownership in ( Since i've never seen it in use yet!!)

If you are up in the lakes give us a shout, we'er on the jetty nearest the Bar ;-)
