No, not another slagging off! I also dated this post in the headline so it's obvious when it'd old...

Anyway, easily the most impressive and obvious element of their round the worls trip from my point of view is the journal from clive tully's small puter and iridium phone. And most of all, the fact that Clive Tully seems to be able to write nice texts whilst being slammed around in a boat, Whereas the rest of us (me anyway) have dificulty even on dry land.

I'm guessing that perhaps the typos are fixed and so on before being put on the website? or does clive also maintain the website too? wow! Either way, it's very good imho that he can get a few hundred words together almost every day even when in a storm as currently, instead of just writing "urgh" and "ow".

I agree.. whether you approve, support or other the trip.. the quality of the writing has been both interesting and high quality.

I have enjoyed having a look and seeing what they have been up to!

I am hoping to be part of the floatilla accompanying them back up the Bristol channel to Cardiff on their return from Gib. Anyone else going?

ooh and ouch. Remember, their confident aim was to break the world record for going round fastest. I too may accompany up the bristol channel, but am wary of swamping them, stealing their thunder or looking like a show-off, so I think i'll swim backstroke instead of freestyle ;-)

Yeah but as you probably know, from a Welshman's perspective we laugh and drink when we loose and the same when we win. One of the attributes of an underachieveing nation i'm afraid.

The fact they were out ot break a record will be completely forgotten, I think people wuill just stand in awe when they see them return alive in that oversized rubber dingy.

So the very fact the SOC makes it back to Cardiff makes them winners in my book.

And I was hoping to see the Leopard coming into Cardiff avoiding floating fridges by staying on the plane all the way into the locks at the barrage ;-)

priddy isn't welsh, though, is he? Can't be, otherwise all the posts would be baa baa, ahem!

Anyway, little way to go yet to reach cardiff. Agreed quite an achievement to get round. Even more of an achievement to get others to pay for it.

And then what, I wonder?

I think that they should keep going, and set the outright record for TWICE round the world. And properly get sponsors rolling in!! News at Ten every nite and so on, plus all sponsorship with free house and g'teed boatie of the year award etc etc.

This would truly shut me up good and proper!
