Spares for my arco winches are now available from australia. I need to remount the rubber jaw which involves removing the spiral clips. These are spring steel and called circlips in the spares list but are not the type you can open with circlip pliers - they simply feed on as you turn them. With post and packing they want $50 US - $20 of which is postage.

Anyone know where I can get stainless clips in the UK without ordering from a manufacturer who want a minumum order?
 
Yes, they're commonly used on winches. I believe the correct term is spiral retaining rings, which might help you google.
IIRC, an American company has its own branded name for them, which I might remember when this senior moment passes :ambivalence:
