Whilst sailing back from Cowes this Sunday (lovely sailing weekend all round), my spinnaker pole gave up the ghost (the pin on the inboard clip came adrift) with some rather exciting consequences.

Does anybody know of a good place to get such items repaired (it looks like the whole end assembly is riveted on to the main body of the pole). All suggestions most welcome.

Thanks in advance

Don't know by whom the pole is made.

Suggest you drill out the pop-rivets holsing in the end-cap, measure the od and id of the polr section and phone up Z-Spars (cheap and cheerful but very helpful.
Tel No 01473 822130. They'll send you a replacement by return together with the rivets.

Click on 'Directory' and under the 'Deck Hardware' section, click on 'Mast, sails and their handling' then click 'Spinnaker handling gear' and there are 60 numbers, one of which can no doubt oblige.
Or get out the spanners and duct tape.
