Hi everyone,

Quick question to anyone who has serviced their spinlock XA / XAS rope clutch; I need to replace one of the handles, does the unit need to be unmounted from the coach roof to be able to do this, or can the side plates be removed in situ?

Many thanks

I replaced the handles on a pair of XA clutches a little while ago and if I remember correctly, there's no need to remove the side panels you just drift put the pivot pin. It was pretty straightforward.

Just serviced one that wouldn't grip 8mm dyneema, but previously held 12mm braid. By comparing how her neignbour worked, it was obviously the "L" shaped rod /spring at fault. So remove, clean, oil and success.(can remove without a stripdown)
