I would always buy one out two to start with and check them out...

Some, you can just squeeze the sides with one hand and they pop/fly open... perfect...

Others, you squeeze with one hand... they don't pop open... and you need the other hand to pull them apart..

Much easier to open with one hand if they're along the bottom of a loose sail cover... and not to have to use two hands on each one... or is that me being lazy!

(Edit: and the ones from Baseline have always worked the way I like)

Although I have just noticed the OPs spider clips have a slightly different release method. :/

They look to be the slim type you would use on a sprayhood... to hold a rolled up side panel for example.

The side clips are not what the OP ask for, but there is a reason side-trigger clips are more available; they are more durable and dependable.

Fastex was the original brand but most are very good.
