Speedseal Life PTFE bearing disk - supplier and dimensions

My take on Speedseal is that 25 years ago, impeller failures were relatively common.
I suspect there were bad batches of impellers for Yanmar.
When I bought my first yacht, I got loads of dubious advice, but one thing I was told was 'if your impeller survived all last season, it's a good one, so don't change it, just carry spares'.

I don't recall anyone I know having an impeller failure in the last 10 years.
Loads of people run outboards for years without changing the impeller and nothing bad happens.
Carry a spare impeller and a gasket, maybe add some spare screws, maybe change the screws for something less fiddly.
There's no great imperative to spend money on a problem that has largely gone away.
Maybe it's worth it if access is bad on your boat.
