Speedseal are coming back

I emailed Speedseal back in December of last year asking when they expected to resume production, and they replied to say they had no idea.
However, this morning, I received the following email from them

"Thank you for your interest in Speedseal. We are currently preparing for a relaunch and are not yet in a position to supply products.

We truly appreciate your patience and support. Your details are on file, and we will notify you directly as soon as Speedseal products are available again.

The relaunch is on track, and we look forward to welcoming you back as part of Speedseal’s next chapter. We expect to share more concrete news later this year, and the wait will not be long.

Kind regards,

The Speedseal Team"

So hopefully the relaunch is going ahead.
Hi Nigel1, do you havethe email contact please? I would like to be on file for a contact when they start up again.Kind regards Phil

I recently replaced one for an MD2020 with this: Speedi Pump Cover Kit - Volvo Penta MD2010/20/30/40 which seems to be a copy of the concept.
I'm interested in this for my MD2030D but unsure on 2 points.

The original has 6 screws. This kit comes with 5 screws but it looks like there are only 4 places for screws. Does the O ring give a better seal so it only needs 4 screws?
Is the 5th screw a spare for the screw (only one?) that's inevitably dropped under the engine?

Ok assuming the same as the 2020D - yes 4 screw holes and so 4 knurled screws are used. I don’t recall if there were 5 in the packet - ie a spare? No issues getting a good seal with just 4 screws.

Yes, the discs inside the front cover achieve nothing, in my experience, but the O-ring to seal the front plate and the knurled thumb screws are a great and worthwhile improvement over the paper gasket and original slotted screws
As I said, the RNLI and Military used them because of their ability to run without water for a short period. As told to me by the inventor

tried to put link to tiktoc but it plays the vid so deleted it. Any way its on there about the new speedseal. Its nearly here
