The minority will spoil it for for majority unless someone takes notice to curb irresponsible speed and boat handling on the Solent. Blatant bad behaviour from motor boat owners and persons at the helm will spoil it for those who operate in a safe and courteous manner respecting the safety of others persons afloat. Someone needs to do something before restrictions are enforced for everyone's safety. Irresponsible motorboat owners take more care now........

Where has this come from? Do you have anything to back up your statement?

Mmm, obviously not one to follow your own advice. I quote from one of your recent posts

Ever since I watched a Top Gear presenter showing how to drive a flybridge motorboat - "there is only one way to drive a boat like this - floor the throttles and let it rip" I have done the same and enjoyed every minute.............

There is no overall authority who can impose restrictions Solent wide. QHM does in his bit, Southampton VTS does in their bit. The rest is just covered by the obligation to keep a safe speed under ColRegs.

Plenty of speed limits already in what is broadly called the Solent (albeit purists might disagree with the definition). Stick to the middle, lads and it'll all be fine.

I can, ahem, recall occasions when I have (a) driven up the Solent on radar only (vis too poor to see beyond the bow) and (b) sat on the foredeck with no-one else aboard and the boat on autopilot.

Scare tactics ?
I would like to see them try or police it.

OP not been back to provide more substance I see. Unlikely to happen as they can't even seem to police the limits on the Itchen judging by the jet skis and fishing boats blatantly ignoring the limit.
