Which way should the arrow on the top of a Raymarine speed paddle transducer point? To the pointy end of the boat or the blunt end?
I took it out to clean it because it had stopped displaying the speed and now it still won’t work, and it occurred to me that I may have reinstalled it the wrong way around. Unless of course I’m going in reverse which I haven’t actually tried.

It should point towards the pointy end AFAIK. Unfortunately, the speed transducers do seem to fail after a while. There is some info on the Ray website about how to test them but I suspect yours, like mine, may simply have died.

These things can be an absolute pest. Sometimes, even if given a good clean, they still won't work, could be I think the area of hull round them may not be clean, so could be the reason. Often, they will not 'spring into action' until the boat has been given a good blast of speed.

Took the transducer out again and had a quick poke with a rounded bit of wood to clear any barnacles or weed that might have been stopping the wheel from spinning and made sure that when I put the transducer back the arrow was pointing to the bow and this seemed to cure the problem.
Thnaks all.

I would have thought that logic would come into play here. The boat moves forward most of the time. Why so surprised?

Not another smart ar*e? We need the likes of you in this forum like we need a hole in the hull!

Tell me where did I say I was suprised? Or where did I express suprise?
The purpose of my last post was simply to acknowledge the contributors assistance and also to "close" the post and to say thanks.

Judging by the fact that this is you very first post, do you not think it would have been "logical" to at least introduce yourself rather than try to score a few cheap points!
