speed loss

Can anyone explain why my boat seems to lose speed overnight. Every morning it is down to 7 kts. When I check the boats around me they are all at full pelt. I lose 500 places every night. Is it me or does anyone else have this problem.

Which race? VOR or Sailonline?

Can you see other boat speeds on VOR?
I'm assuming VOR cos to lose 500 places on SOL you would have to stop

Do you have an auto pilot?

no...well the wind has moved round

If you do have and auto pilot that follows the wind, the wind speed affects the apparent wind so you have to tweak your heading for max speed

Or just stay up all night....or share the helming with a friend, 4 hours on 4 hours off...these boats don't sail themselves you know! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
