I'm trying to calibrate the speed/log on a newly installed Raymarine system. The speed readout is close to what it should be but it just needs a bit of a tweak. Following the sequence in the supplied manual, I arrive at a page on the i70s display with the speed and up and down arrows visible and with the instruction to "Use the up/down keys to adjust the speed through water to match the SOG Press Done to accept the single point entry" - I've attached a picture below (taken with the boat stationary, speed does actually display when under way). However, I am getting no response on the screen to presses on the corresponding buttons below. I have been in contact with Raymarine and it's been suggested that the display (Speed? Arrows? All?) needs to be flashing before I can commence the adjustment. This isn't mentioned in the book and although the Raymarine Tech' did suggest pressing the up and down keys simultaneously, nothing so far has worked. To be fair to Raymarine, the chap I've been exchanging emails with is working from home and doesn't have a system there to 'play' with. Recent queries requesting other suggestions have remained unanswered so I seek assistance here please!

Many thanks in anticipation.

I know you mention the speed works when under way but IIRC you have to calibrate it when under way too.

Is that what you have been doing?

I did mine the other day and I don't recall any special key presses. I didn't have the manual - I just followed the prompts on the screen. Does the automatic calibration to SOG work?
My transducers are connected through an iTC-5.
I suppose you must have tried shutting it all down and starting again.

Caladh, DJE. Thanks for your replies. Calibration to SOG was used to get it there or thereabouts but I need to further tweak it by about 0.1 or 0.2 kts.

DJE. Yes it’s through an ITC-5. Did your digits flash at all or was this an erroneous steer? When using the up and down arrows, did the digits change at set intervals - e.g. 0.1 kts per press or similar? I’ve tried ‘press and hold’ too.

Edit: Yes, I’ve tried shutting down and starting again thanks.

Apart from this one issue, I’m really impressed with the system.

Been thinking about that but I honestly can't remember. Like all these things, when it works you don't notice it.

Was this issue resolved? I have the same problem.

it’s a couple of years ago now, but iirc then I did it the long way in the end, selecting speeds (SOG @ slack water) of, I think, 3, 4, 5, 6kts and adjusting the correction factors individually. I remember thinking it could have been made much easier. I got pretty close in the end, I did enlist the local Raymarine installer for assistance. We never did get an answer to my original question.
