Hello,

Where do people go to for their rope?
I want to buy some Spectra or other completely non stretch rope, what and where should I be looking.
Thank You.

Depends what you want from it.
I've bought from ebay, local chandlers, mail order.
spectra tends to creep a bit, for some things it is worth paying even more for vectran.
For other things, wire is still useful.

My intentions as I posted in the yachting scuttlebut thingy is to fabricate a tiller to outboard steering link for my gallion. The idea being 'specta' or said non stretch rope to attach to outboard through a block up on the pushpit and down to the tiller.

Quick links onto the tiller so it can be removed easily and allow for sailing.

I thought spectra being this super non stretch rope would be perfect for the results I want, obviously the less stretch the more positive the results. Also returning to center will be important...

I wouldn't expect it needing to be over 6mm and around 6 metres.

Thanks,

I did think about using flexible stainless wire as thats readily available but thought spectra might be 'nicer'.
