I am guessing a rather dumb question but...
It’s coming to the time of year to undertake the antifouling and one area that I am questioning is Trim Tabs etc. In the past I have carefully cleaned and flattened the trim tabs, then coated with Hammerite Special Metals Primer. Then used antifouling primer then the antifouling. Now every year on haul out – very little antifouling or antifouling primer but the Special Metals primer is largely intact.
So... Can I antifoul direct onto the special metals primer forgoing the primer?
What is the latest smart thinking on trim tabs? Probably wouldn’t take much to clean up and buff to shiny stainless steel and just leave!
