Spare 'high pressure' fuel pipe.

Re: Spare \'high pressure\' fuel pipe.

If you're referring to the pipe from the injection pump to the injector, the the answer is no. Even if the flexible could withstand the extremely high pressure, its inherent "ballooning" would completely destroy the injection characteristic.

Re: Spare \'high pressure\' fuel pipe.

Peter,

Have a look at your yellow pages for diesel injection places. They will be able to supply a flexible injector pipe. They come in several lengths. They are a bit pricey, but not horrific. Good idea as a spare for a get you home!

We carry one in all our breakdown trucks - certain 4x4s were famous for breaking injector pipes and it has saved us a load of hassle.

Re: Spare \'high pressure\' fuel pipe.

flexible highpressure injector pipes are available. We used to have some carried as spares on a workboat .If you cant find a supplier PM me and I will find out where we got them from.

Re: Spare \'high pressure\' fuel pipe.

Just get a long one off a diesel engine in a breakers yard, they are reasonably easy to bend for the purpose.

Re: Spare \'high pressure\' fuel pipe.

there was a trader selling emergency higher pressure pipe kits for this purpose on eBay recently. Don't know if they are still listed - I think they were in the boat engines section.

Any more offers??

I'll withdraw my "no", but I'm not going out to buy a flexible pipe !! I quite like the idea of a fairly long "solid" pipe though, esp. if it came cheap.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, normal injector pipe. Make sure it has the right ends for your purposes, there are two very similar looking fittings one smaller than the other, you can tell from the AF (spanner) size and don't assume both ends are the same.
