Anyone else get a PM advertising Volvo with RYA discount? Not sure I'm too impressed with this; I'd assumed I was reasonably safe from spam on the YBW forums, but obviously was wrong...

Pants.

They have kindly provided tel, fax and email addresses in the pm. Suggest you register disapproval directly. If enough people call, it will tie them up all afternoon, and stop them making any sales - which should discourage them doing it again!. With a few office phones on auto redial, it may keep them occupied all weekend too! <g>

Dagnabbit, I'm being slow today. Prolly result of lack of sailing opportunities tomoz. Still, the sailing drought has resulted in me feeling particularly spiteful so here you go:

Your username cannot get entered on spam lists -- for anyone to spam you they have to do it manually and by definition we know who they are and can kill the ID.

In fact in this case we went one stage further and registered a formal complaint with the company concerned.

Not too sure the person responsible (someone in marketing apparently) was too clever anyway...chose an interesting brand image for the username = sharky. Top marks to Squire Furneaux Volvo Leatherhead for that one.
