I shall be sailing from Bay des Rosas in Spain to Corsica in July and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has already done this route with any advice they may have.

not much of a route really - open sea all the way.

I wd make very sure about the weather, though. Golfe de lion, lions roaring, trains being blown backwards in marseilles, 15 minutes from calm to ful gale, blah blah. If the mistrasl/tramontane blows up, the only hiding place is erm corsica.

Many thanks for the link, some useful information here. I am expecting to head up to the edge of the Golfe de Lion and hope to pick up the prevailing SW for a beam reach over to Corsica. I was hoping to stay out of the Golfe de Lion as much as possible. My question really was has anybody already done this run at this time of year. I believe the wind may swing through 180 as I near Corsica. Last year I sailed from Menorca overnight to the Bay de Rosas and had a very pleasant force 7 on the nose all the way. Hoping for something a little more comfortable this time.
