Spain shoots at jet skiers.... ?

Hence it should be handed back to them and be done with all this pocket imperialism.

In which case the Spanish should offer us Menorca back and Give up Cueta......have we ever pretended Menorca is British...no not since Utrecht. The Spanish Government (Madrid) are the issue. They control the Guardia Civil. The Spanish people (on a whole) and La Linea Mayor are our close friends and we are all happy together! Politicians are the Issue....not individuals.

Yes, exactly.
And Melilla...not forgetting Peregil Island on the Moroccan coast..which is the size of a muffin....where they sent helicopters and paratroopers armed to the teeth to repel some Moroccan goatherd who put some goats there to nibble thistles !.....Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! ...Funny...:D

Listen, teapot, I am very patient, so I will explain it again, but my patience has its limits, you understand ?

All you have to do is watch the video...listen carefully...to the running commentary....and hear the distinctive crack of the rounds being fired....OK ?

Now if that doesn't satisfy you, I can arrange, if you come here yourself, for you to borrow a jetski, and for you to play around in the proximity of a Spanish patrol boat, to see if they will use you as target practice this time ? Howzat ?

Listen VO5 (why do you name yourself after a shampoo?), your tough guy posturing isn't of the slightest concern to me and I really don't care whether or not your patience has its limits. You understand, eh?

I've seen the video (which reportedly emerged a couple of days after the "incident") and I have no idea whether those sounds are genuinely gunshots, doors slamming or anything else. You still haven't provided anything to corroborate the points which I made earlier.

Maybe all Gibraltarians are macho types who know no fear but any jet skier who thinks he is being fired upon by a patrol boat and makes a dash for it as if he is in a Hollywood movie, rather than stopping dead in the water, is a fruitcake. Or maybe the whole thing is nonsense.

I don't need to go to Gib to be convinced. I do need to see more credible evidence than you have provided so far.

Rigger, you keep saying we. Please note that in the scheme of things, you do not matter. Your opinion is irellivant. The prime minister made his decision on facts clearly unknown to you.

However, if Chinita and yourself ever find time to visit Gibraltar, part of your nation, I will happily introduce yo to the facts of living here including a personal tour of our territorial waters.

I am sure a little nog in the Yact Club could be arranged as well!

I have spent a fair bit of time at sea around Gib on Saturday, Sunday and today. The GC were completely absent. Not one violation, not one VHF one sided challenge from the RN patrol.

Well I never......

You're absolutely sure there's no show ?
Coincidence isn't it ?
And just when I have gone to all the bother ringing round for the loan of a really really powerful jetski (a red one) complete with a vintage Klaxon hooter that guarantees teapot would get noticed...without fail...how disappointing !:D

No, come here and try it. All is arranged. A really powerful beast of a jetski specially rigged with a loud vintage Klaxon, which will guarantee you will be noticed...

or...

I have a one man yellow tent complete with all the gear :~
Radio
Teasmade.
Porta Pottie.
Mosquito Screens.
Tilley Lantern.
etc.,

We can land you on Peregil Island and then we can observe what happens...but only when we hear the GC has left port.

Howzat?!
:D

Well, I am still confused about the irradiation thing.

The claim appears to be that it is harming Gibraltarians. How can it be, unless they are smuggling tobacco?

As far as I can see there are in the region of 4,700 Spaniards going in and out each day. Presumably they (or some of them) are screened on the way back to Spain.

To match this figure one in every six Gibraltarians would have to leave the Rock. Clearly not the case.

So, how is it a threat to Gibraltarians? In fact, why is it any of their business at all? Spain is merely policing its Frontier in the way it chooses.

And I forgot...
you can even have a blow up dollie to keep you company so you won't feel lonely.
but you have to watch it because at the slightest excuse it will blow a raspberry and fly out of your tent flap...;)..Howzat?! I can't do more...;)

No, it seems again that you do not understand that you do not understand.:D

The fact of the matter is that the xray machine can be used indiscriminately by prolonging the dose, the exposure.
It can be aimed at individuals from a distance or at stopped cars with occupants waiting in a queue, or at anybody else.
For this reason the idea is potentially very dangerous.
Now do you gettit ?
If you still don't gettit I am very patient and I will explain it again until you do...but....BUT...my patience has its limits....

NO
.
You pay for the entire expedition yourself including the fuel and the insurance premium for the jetski..
That includes the flights and the hotel.
And the hotel will be in Spain, not here, so you can experience first hand the obstacle course at the frontier.
If you hire a car it is for your expense as well.
Then when you are here a 10p coin will be flipped.
Heads = you go on the jetski if and when the GC show up again.
Tails= you go in the tent, ditto.;)

Just for once, please try to answer the question without lunging off on a vitriolic tangent.

From your Panorama Newsdesk:

"Serious concerns start to emerge when specifications and the potential of the vehicles equipment are examined. This important information has been kept firmly under-wraps by the Spanish Authorities. however our investigation has been able to discover, unwrap and expose another dirty gamí:e by Spain against the people of Gibraltar. One that may have human rights implications, as the use of such intrusive equipment at a frontier not only raises important privacy issues but also matters of health!

I ask again. How does this affect the people of Gibraltar? It only affects the Spanish.

The rest of your statement about 'indiscriminately prolonging dose', 'aimed at individuals at a distance' is laughable. What evidence do you have - apart from the puerile reportage of your Panorama Website.

Makes our daytime TV look positively highbrow.

P.S 'They' are watching you, you know :eek::eek:

As I said; send the tickets when you are ready,. I'm prepared to give my time for free but you'll have to pay. You'll have to pay for an introductory course on Jet skis too. I've never been on one of the wretched things; they don't appeal.
No negotiation. Just like you don't want to negotiate with the Spanish.

But if you aren't prepared to put your money where your mouth is.......

Exposure to Xrays repeatedly is unhealthy.
You don't think so.
Please yourself.

Yes, I know that.

So, how is exposure to these X-Rays affecting the people of Gibraltar when they are not the ones going through the border?

It is really a very simple question.

But I am not paying for any jolly of yours, that's also for certain.

AAH! I see what you mean now...
No, not at all. Only if they cross the frontier., dear oh dear !
