Does anyone have any info on the Southerly 28? On paper they seem to tick quite a lot of boxes (including reasonable prices) but what do they sail like? Does the drop keel mechanism go wrong? What are the weak points? Etc. Etc. Or suggestions of similar boats (if they exist - but can't afford an Ovni!). Thanks

More of a motor sailor than a sail boat, go for a southerly 95 if you want more performance. Good accomodation all around, although the galley is more suitable for shorter people. If regularly drying out on a mooring its best to leave a couple of turns off of the keel winch, just an inch or two movement each tide of the keel will keep it from sticking... Not a fun job to get it free'd again! Some very good examples about, and some not so good. Heard of a few suffering from osmosis.
