Southend Pier Again?

I have just been told (0930) that a trawler has crashed into the Southend Pier. I cannot find any other sources to suggest this is true. Anyone else heard?

You could say that, I can still hear Doris Day singing, on their PA system over the sounds of ten pin balls going down the lanes. Is my old school still there Southchurch Hall High School for boys?

Southchurch Hall is now an adult education centre

From Essex.gov:
After the War the growth of pupil numbers made in necessary for the Girls School to move to separate premises. It was renamed Dowsett High School for Girls and occupied the former Southend High School for Girls premises in Boston Avenue, Prittlewell, In 1968 Dowsett High School for Girls moved to new premises in Southchurch Boulevard, Southchurch. This site was extended in 1981 when Dowsett High School for Girls and Southchurch Hall High School for Boys amalgamated to form Thorpe Bay High School. The former Southchurch Hall School premises are now used as an Adult Education Centre.

Nice old building still there.

Wow that was a surreal moment. I clicked on the heading and then found my original posting but of course didn't immediately appreciate it was done in February 2012. There's me thinking "**** hackers".


I feel as relieved as the impromptu fire fighter.
