Southampton to Ardrossan

[WRJACK]

Completed the first voyage on my recently purchased Hi Star 46 between Southampton and Ardrossan, taking advantage of the several very calm days last week.
Skippered very calmly and expertly by by Ron Dunsmore and assisted by Craig Sherry. A lots of firsts for me on this trip so a most enjoyable experience!

Wed 27th May	Depart Southampton for Plymouth at 1:30pm
Thur 28th May	Arrive Plymouth, Quick refuel and depart Arrive Newlyn harbour to troubleshoot engine issue and leaking stern gland then depart for Milford Haven Transit through Ramsey Sound
Fri 29th May	Divert to Padstow after fuel range doubts , quick refuel and depart for Milford Haven Arrive Milford Haven Quick refuel ,take on fresh water, top up oil and depart for Bangor NI
Sat 30th May	Arrive in Bangor, quick refuel then depart for Ardrossan Arrive in Ardrossan 8pm

Weather was flat calm the whole way!
We cruised at an average of 10 knots and burned about 2500 litres to complete the trip

That in itself is incredible for such a trip. We can’t even manage a coastal cruise without it being a bit lumpy at some point! ?

Yes , I think so but there was a fair bit of turbulence even on the calm day and some whirlpools, which gave the boat a good kick around but the autohelm sorted that out

I first discovered it in the dark. Had something on radar but I badly misjudged it and fortunately had the power to get out of trouble.
