Southampton Boat Show-Where to eat?

Heading to the show this year. Staying in Premier Inn and would appreciate any restaurant recommendations and where to get a good breakfast to fuel the bargain hunting.

What is wrong with your hotel for breakfast? I think Premier do an all you can eat buffet?

Last year breakfast was OKish but queued for 10 mins 1 morning as it was very understaffed and one of the group was accused of not paying the morning before(he did pay b4 ye ask ;-)) Just looking for options.

There is a place called The Buttery just off the High Street somewhere that do a decent breakfast.

Don't forget to call in to M&S near the entrance and pick up your quality and relatively cheap sandwiches for lunch.

Actually there are two Greggs in Southampton - just as good quality and cheaper.

Thanks. Thats breakfast and lunch sorted. We found a good steakhouse off High st(Rancho I think) last year. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Trust me I have probably eaten in every restaurant in Southampton, good and bad.

Near the show? Oxford Street will always deliver above average (most of the time) but if its busy even the best ones can fall over fast..

You have your normal Pizza Express, ZiZi etc or you can go to Oxfords for top end (not the one on the corner, the middle one) or the one that has delivered on every occasion is the Olive Tree in Oxford Street.

Taps (La Regatta but I never remember the name..I can just crawl there) opposite Town Quay is also very good.

I had an "incident" with a certain editor, myself and a bowl of over cooked and messily presented green beans once in Dock Gate Four so that's been off the list for a number of years...

I have learnt that I cant be bothered to walk any further than these two areas now...

If its one night only, try your luck down Oxford Street, something will deliver.

I was referring to the Marks and Spencer's in the shopping centre adjacent to the boat show entrance, as I wouldn't go into Southampton to buy a sandwich as I usually park in the car park next to the shopping centre.

It doesn't matter where you buy your sarnies, anywhere is cheaper than inside the show.

Wetherspoons ay Ocean village is OK and reasonable, but also try Waterfront or Yellow wellie at Shamrock Quay.........a bit out of the way but worth it......

Oxfords on Oxford street is very good for dinner .......... in fact most restaurants on Oxford Street offer the better end of food in Southampton. Because of this, I would recommend booking well in advance.

Try Goerges - off of the High street, behind FYEO - good Cypriot place!!

I'd second Wetherspoons for a full english breakfast to keep you going all day. £2.79 for a platefull, unbeatable!
