Southampton Boat Show 2022: Tickets?

i would love to know what the typical spend is, excluding the sale of boats.

According to the Wikipedia page £880 is the average spend *excluding* boats. Seems a little steep given the probable number of casual browsers and the fact that many boat owners probably go with their families (thereby reducing the per person spend).

I have done their survey a couple of times. I'm fairly sure it asks a lot of questions about spend in categories such as travel there, hotel and food costs whilst in southampton together with spend at the show which would bump it up.

I suspect though that the survey is skewed heavily towards active sailors. I suspect casuals won't bother with the survey whereas dedicated sailors may feel more generous to completing it. I also suspect that many casuals that just turned up won't have given active email addresses anyway, leaving the survey to be skewed heavily to the email addresses of people like RYA members, exhibitor mailing lists etc.

possibly - but seems more possible if you consider sales of plotters/radar etc, charter holidays or courses, engines, sails etc. if it’s per “visiting group” (family) rather than person that seems entirely plausible even if many spend very little.
