Its September, its Southampton, its Groundhog Day……or is it?

Southampton Boat Show (sorry the PSP..) is upon us once more and as always you will find your favourite boating magazines on stand E001 opposite the marina entrance, not only that there will of course be a chance to subscribe to your favourite magazine at the special boat show discount price…..yawn, yawn yawn I hear you say….in fact I fell asleep writing this…

So…… we have shaken it up a little!

Whilst we have been offering digital magazines for over five years now, never have we displayed them in full glory at the show until now.

Why not pop along to stand E001 and experience the look and feel of your favourite read on one of 12 ipads we will have available for you to use.

This is your chance to really experience what a digital magazine has to offer, the extended galleries, the video boat reports, the searchable index and the live links, it really does bring the magazine to life.

So visit the stand for your chance to try them out completely free, oh and they are chained down…..

Oh, oh and of course we will be offering you the chance to win an iPad2 3G by entering our exclusive show competition.

And as I know you all love Facebook and Twitter we have a dedicated “Tweetwall” on the stand bringing you live tweets on just about anything to do with the show.

However this is not just bought to you from our respected journalist and award winning marketing teams this is for you to get involved with. So upload your galleries, tag yourself in photos and join in the live Twitter feed at #ipcsbs

Those in the Twitter know will also see magazine hash tags appear throughout the week so join in and share your thoughts by including #ipcsbs. We have kept it short unlike others out there…

And for something completely different whether you are power or sail, we will be displaying the Yachting Monthly Crash Test boat on berth M541.

We’ve rolled it, holed it, dismasted it, set it on fire and about to blow it up so don’t miss this exciting display and watch the video on each test – its truly gripping.

Finally……It’s a good bye to the free beer and wine this year to forum members, not a budget thing, not a policy thing in fact call by and I will explain why….however like grandmas house there maybe a little something in the biscuit tin round the back…

So see you there stand E001 even if you just want to have a moan….but do that Mon – Fri as I won’t be there…:D

Cheers!

Not going this year, refuse t, rip off ticket price, last year we went to try a boat, and it was not availble, the hut on the end of the pontoon was closed for some reasion, when asked a member of the show, was told it not availble for that day(rubbish excuse).:mad:

Decided to look at some of the bigger boats boats() but was refused acces to on board due to appointment viewing only(what on a 42 ft), tried to look at some yacts and also refused boarding. Southambton boat show is a load of rubbish unless you have a million quid and spending it down there, even some of the smaller sports boats we were refused to look other than peeping over the side of it. WHY:mad::mad:

Southampton boat show is all about boating so why cant you look at any boat that you choose. Plus the food cost is daylight robbery.

Sorry last year was my last, will not drive 2.5 hours to get treated like a poor boy, cant afford a luxury boat no, but still dream of owning on.

Well we went on Friday, went on all the sports boats we wanted to, have a good look around the Windys and even the Prestige with no appointment. Felt very welcome in fact. I'm not renowned for being particulary smart or rich looking

Show today

The wife and I had a great day at the show today, were well received on all the four UK top marque builders stands, had some very helpful discussions with some bright young chaps, and a old one too, were offered hospitality by all.

We did dress smart casual, not posh and were politely asked before boarding each boat and positive welcoming responses.

Princess 42 Flybridge was the one to beat for us

Cheers Rob:D

Richard Shead yes ... I may be found wandering around Monaco looking for boats. i will pm my tel number if your expenses stretch to ..... Cafe des Artistes?:D

Fire away! I can be found on the Superyacht Business / World stand in Hall Sud opposite a very well known and publicised set of stabilisers featuring a video of a very well known owner..

Hi Richard,

Came to the IPC stand on Saturday and asked for Richard but the lady at the desk said you had just gone over to the press stand.

Had a look at MB&Y on one of the demo Ipads before buying a paper copy for the £2 offer.
