Southampton Boat Show 10th – 19th Sept

So the Summer is over (the official one) so now it’s the turn of the Indian Summer which means it must be Southampton Boat Show time…..

As always, ybw.com will be sharing a stand with its sister publications and websites on stand E001 which is opposite the main marina entrance.

A whole host of delights can be found on here (including myself) from the very latest issues of your favourite boating magazine to great deals on subscriptions…

So that’s the hard sell out the way, what else is there…

Well, firstly we have a little competition running to win an Apple iPad 3G with full Navionics UK app package…

Yes that’s right an APPLE IPAD 3G WITH FULL NAVIONICS UK APP PACKAGE!!!

On top of this we will throw in a digital subscription to your favourite boating magazine (one of ours obviously….)

All you have to do is come to the stand and enter, what could be simpler!

All whilst your there, if you can prove you are a member of the forum (and its up to you how..) then I can probably offer up something cold from my fridge of delights. If I were to find something of an alcoholic nature then you must also prove you are of an age to be drinking it…..

So don’t be shy please do come along, enter the competition, buy a magazine, sound off or just stop and say hello (even those who have us on ignore…)

There will be members of the editorial and advertising team there throughout the week (although I cant tell you which days or times) and the stand (as always) will be populated by helpful and knowledgeable staff should you have any questions (sensible ones…)

See you there…

Richard

Short of posting a picture of yourself on here how do you prove that you're a forum member?

please note proving age will be no problem at all starting with buspass, wrinkly skin, lack of teeth, corrective lenses, old fart dress code, simple.

Get with the technology David:D Login to the forum from your smartphone/IPAD whilst at the stand:)

My last upgrade was a Samsung smart phone, but I found it was too bloody smart for the likes of me,it has sat nav, tinternet browsing, googles, fleabay, facefacts, twits, photo recognition, lay it over it scrolls your pics, it's in the office on a shelf with its matching pen thingy hanging off of one corner and it has been there for the last 15 months I am due for another upgrade now and have no idea what to ask for!

And moan about smart phones that way I will know who you are....then again you could be mistaken for Deleted User if you do that...

New plan of attack, if Haydn's burgees arrive before SIBS, I can Tie one to me brolly or belt depending on weather wotdyathink?:D

don't think I could wear it like Kawka, as a loose thong on the outside of me jeans, as depicted in the earlier related thread:D

What about a secret code or secret handshake, lift one leg, pass hand under and wait. anyone who does this is worth entering the comp.

Weather permitting Geoff S and I plan to cruise round from Poole and leave our boats in Ocean village for a couple of nights.

A cold one

Richard

I may well pop along for a cold one more than once.
As for ID.... I'll have my name badge on and exhibitors pass round my neck!

As for saying "hi", I may well do that too.

Beejay? Drop by the Sea Ray stand to say hello. Stand E057.
Same goes for any other forumites.
...although I don't have a conveniently located beer fridge unlike Richard.

Is this one of those sting operations ?

You offer one beer per forum member, and wait to see if any multi posters turn up , hand them a beer or two then pounce on them while they are drunk, turn out the pockets to reveal they are wearing a reversible jacket with dozens of forum IDs :D

As good as your word!

Richard,

Thanks for the drink on Saturday, much appreciated having been around all the pontoons I'd worked up a nice thirst.

It's the first year of going round the show that I didn't buy anything. Not by choice, I was looking to buy a new compass amongst other things, but nothing at all suitable on any stand. Quite disappointing in that respect, I'll have to resort to the t'internet and fork out for the P&P.

Enjoyed the quiet show, wasn't sure if Saturday's weather forecast put people off or if it was a sign of the times, but it was the quietest show I've ever been to.

Hope things get busier this week
