No problem with veggie option, but won't be particularly Scottish. If you want to come, I'll find out what the option will be from landlord tomorrow. Would be good to know if there are any other vegetarians coming as the meal will other wise be a traditional Burns Supper, with set dishes as mentioned above.
The table booked is for 8 so depends how many, if any, want to come. Non of the friends we were going with can make it now - one is off shore, another is at a formal dinner and the third has a funeral /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. It might be possible to increase the table size but I won't know til tomorrow.
The date seems to have wandered back and forth a bit. Presumably as the Burns supper is now the favourite option it's Sunday not Sat as previously suggested.
I could make Sun but have a sailing club bash on Sat.
The Burns suoer at the Union is on the Saturday 24th ( a day early I know, but that was the pub's call). No change of date from the discussions above. Will be a shame not to see you if you can't make the Saturday /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Unfortunately I need a decision on the Burns supper asap. We were going to reduce our booking to just Paul and I tonight and to be fair to the landlord, we really need to let him know tommorrow at the latest whether or not we need the full table. Sorry to hurry people /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
Ok - so far I have the following names for a Burns Supper at The Union Inn, Underwood Road, Plympton PL7 1SY 7.30 pm for prompt start at 8 pm (tel 01752 337294)...
Anne & Paul
Photodog + SWMBO
Sarabande
Carol, Goosewing + 1
Ann & Andy (CornishSailor)
If I've missed anyone or you want to come and haven't let me know yet, can you do so by tomorrow night at the latest please? There are still places available but the landlord is expecting it to get booked up as the week progresses.
Does anyone have a contact number for Kioni? I know he was interested in doing something but hasn't posted for a day or two, so I don't know if he is coming or not.
I'll pm my mobile number once I have a final list incase there are any problems.
Great evening... Paul was resplendent in his kilt and the full works (well I didn't look quite at all of him....though I was reassured by Anne that he was fully traditional /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ). The pub had gone to great trouble decorating the place with scottish flags etc. and cooked a very good meal for us. The haggis was duly addressed, much whisky was downed (well by me anyway!) and it was a splendid evening.. Thanks Paul and Anne!
next one - maybe just into cornwall somewhere, and we also all (or most?) decided we'd like to do a MOB recovery day (al la east coast forum's do)
