The plan is to take the boat over with a friend and leave it there & then return home.
Return a week later (school holidays) with the family to spend a few weeks on the boat, & at the end return home with family minus boat.
Return a week later to bring boat back.

Can anyone recommend suitable marinas with access to public transport where we can leave the boat for the first and last week.
When minus boat I will be travelling via the Hoek of Holland.

Middleberg is convienent for trains to Rotterdam. The station is 10 minutes walk from the town harbour.
Dordrecht is another suitable town on the railway line to Rotterdam

Go for Helevoetsluis on north side of Haringvliet. Quiet, capacious and reasonably priced. 1k walk round to village and bus to Spijkenisse, a depot of trains and buses, thence onwards to Rotterdam Schiedam and HvH. Easy. Look up buses, play with routes on this site:

Other towns further south and inland (Dordrecht etc) very nice but my suggestion is easiest access from N sea.

Yes, I would second Helevoetsluis - they were great when we left our boat there for a few weeks. Not far from the sea lock, and not far from Willemstad /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hellevoetsluis is indeed a useful location, only a short hop after the sea lock. But bring your provisions for the first day there, the shops are a long -and boring- walk off.

Thanks for the tip

I have been thinking of investing in a s/h folding bike for a while, I will definitely look into buying one now.
