South of France - where to live?

Anywhere along the south coast of France between Toulon and the Italian border is expensive but it is really lovely with some fantastic sailing to be had all year round.
We live in Marines de Cogolin where we also keep the boat.
It does get busy in July and August but no more busy than I found the M62 when I was back in the UK last week (and the M62 is like that 12 months a year!)
We tend to go cruising for July and August (Tunisia , Malta and Sicily this year) then sail in and around the Golfe de St Tropez the rest of the year. When we were out over the weekend SHMBO was back into the Bikini & today was hotter with not another boat in sight.
Nice as it is we are selling the lot after christmas and buying a bigger boat and sailing off around the world while we have the chance.
So if anyone is interested in a marina studio with the boat outside let me know.

All the best

Andrew

Go to Corwall, there's a few big holes in the ground you can stand in and look normal.

Hi

just a few comments :

Languedoc is quieter & cheaper than Cote d'Azur.
It has expats scattered in villages, but no ghettos
The Gulf de Lion coastline is pretty flat & featureless, but it gets more interesting towards the Pyrenees and the other side of the Rhone.
Sete could make an interesting base : sheltered, fishing harbour & commercial port with great fish restaurants.
Ryanair fly to 6 local airports giving a good choice of cheap flights.
It has 300+ annual days of sunshine !
