I am aiming to spend a few days scouring the brokerages on the south coast in search of our next boat (what better way to spend some time off /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Thinking sportscruiser (Sealine 360, 365 or similar) or flybridge (Fairline 36 Sedan, Princess 368/360 or similar)

Seen several brokerages from Brighton to Weymouth on the Internet (I know, big stretch of coast) but don't really know how many there are /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can anyone suggest brokerages that are worth a visit?

There are loads - I'd get on the web and do a search on the types of boats you're after and focus around them.

Worth remembering is that some of the better buys sometimes appear when the type of boat your looking for is found in a yard not normally catering for that type of craft.Ferrinstance,my last boat was to be found surrounded by saily boats of all sizes,so folks only going there to see sail boats and not interested in any MoBo found there. So up for sale for ages and good buy from my point of view.Mebbe go and look at loads of Sealines at main agent, but keep eye out for one lurking bit lost and lonely in nearby smaller brokerage?

Would definitely have a word with Richard at Inwards at Hamble point, very knowledgable guy what he does'nt know about mobo's and the market is'nt worth knowing.

Think he may have a few of what your looking for at Hamble, anything I have seen at his place is always top notch and always well priced.

A friend of mine, and Byron's, is selling his Sealine F360 and is a very enthusiastic seller.
If you are seriously in the market for a boat like this I can put him in touch with you.
After all, no brokerage commission should be good for both sides.

If it was SMB then I sincerely apologise!
That is my lot and although I have only been there 3 years I feel embarrassed when anyone has had a rough time.

You may find things have moved forward since then as a lot of changes have taken place over the last couple of years.

Ancasta have offices (I think about 11 or 12 in all) all the way from Brighton to Falmouth, as the can each see the all of the boats listed from any of them why not save yourself some time and petrol and visit the one nearest to you.

Thanks for the replies - just looking for info not always readily available by searching on individual boats

Thanks for the apology.
It was around 2000/1 and concerned an Atlantic 38 they had for sale. It was advertised by Med-sale but seemed to be SMB that I dealt with at Universal Shipyard.
We all have bad experiences over the years. It just seems that the marine business has more than its fair share.

Back then (Up until Xmas '04), MedSale and SMB were sister companies with the same director's.
Working from the same office and using the same computer system would have meant that any brokerage sale would have been "bannered" MedSale, because the account with MTM was with them.
If you read this and get the chance (and remember), would you PM me with the sales person you dealt with?
It could have been one of several, but I can imagin who may have wound you up more than others!
