Finally got around to scraping together the appalling footage I collected from our fantastic trip east and back.

Henry, I need to take your course :)

Still makes a nice scrapbook and is fairly boaty.

The Solent crew will recognise much of the scenery and maybe some of the boats; the med brigade will look at the weather and wonder why on earth anyone would want to keep a boat in the uk!

Anyhoo, a big hi to all whom we met, a special shout out to Sharon, Bruce and our newest, dear friends Richard and Elvia. See you in Portimao!!!

That's a nice collection of memories of a apparently very successful trip. Thank you for posting.

Was that Gillingham marina at around 1:15?

Excellent video Nigel , where was the pub next to the river with wooden railings in shot ? . We haven't managed to find that place yet .

Thanks for sharing, great to see places we have yet to explore, aithough covered most of east, south and west coasts ,apart from the weather, this is why we have decided to keep boating in uk, interesting how you find Portimao as this is on our to check list, having ruled out spain for now.

Great video, Nigel. Apart from the sweaters and the odd dollop of spray the weather didn't look that bad. Having said that, you probably didn't have the video on in the rough stuff!

Spot on Richard, it seemed that when the sun was out the wind came with it; still we had a great June and our meet up in Jersey was pretty good if I recall?

Aren't we due a new boat thread from you guys?!

I'll be creating a YouTube channel and blog for the trip south, very much looking forward to having time to be a little more creative. Very excited about Portugal generally and we are currently scheduling the plan so as to have a month around Porto and the Douro before we tie up in PM marina in September?

Yup, it certainly was good in Jersey. In fact the other side of the Channel definitely had a better time than UK south coast this year. We will try to put a thread together on Ocean Spirit but it may have to wait until we have more decent pics.

Where are you Zippy?

Wow nearly 200 views today, can see how much work gets done by forumites on a Friday;)

today was very productive for me. I'm just trying to decide what boat to look at next!!

We live in East Boldre. looks like to took the bikes from Bucklers hard to Gins maybe? i recognise the stone ruin having ridden past it daily for my charity bike ride training.

It's a lovely part of the world, and so flat! Out Bosch bikes give us around 60 mile range so we really made the most, cycled to lymington a few times, across the Forrest following Garmin trails and generally never getting used to ponies in the road. Bucklers is a lovely spot, we had a great time there. Even went to the motor museum which I hadn't done since I was a kid.

It's a bit of a worry how much time we spend looking at boats, still there are worse things we could be doing....
