Have just spent a day around material and reminant shops, while SWMBO checked every little scrap of material known to man that these shops were selling.
The men were trying to be supportive of their ladies, but you could see the frustration building, even when you have chosen the meterial you want it still takes another hour to get it cut and pay for the damn stuff.
Anyhow, I did notice a roll of blue acrylic like we had bought last year from C&J marine textiles, I think it was around the £5.00 per metre mark. They also had some window material, but I did not see the price, you do have to be carefull that the materials you buy are protected from UV and saline, windows for tents tend to go brown if they are used on boats.
The store was called Abakhan in Liverpool, their main wharehouse is in Mostyn North Wales, they even have a website
... for many years now I've had acrylic sprayhoods and sailcovers supplied by the local marquee firm as their quotes are always less than half those of sailmakers. I'd never realised before why the spray-hood windows went brown after a few years. Next time I'll specify the right material.
