Source of a small qty of Epoxy Resin?

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a source of a small qty of epoxy resin?

I only need enough to go over an area about 4" x 6" with a bit of fibreglass cloth tape in the bilge, after filling 5 small holes with epoxy filler from an old Sum Log impeller.

I've found this, but have no idea if its any good:

I will of course remove the paint first!


I don't want to buy a lot as it will only sit in the garage and go out of date...

Any unused resin is always handy and it lasts for years. Don't tell this lot but I am still using a large pack I bought in 1999.

If 30 g is enough - buy a tube full. Lidl's is good. £1.99 I seem to remember. Maybe you would need two tubes!

I rather like this kit. I have one onboard as part of my “just in case” kit but it gets used much more regularly than that.

Out of interest, what is the benefit of the West G5 pack over the similarly priced 105/205 pack which includes filler etc?

1:1 mix ratio, apart from that, that pack looks the dogs dangly bits.

About £15 on a £20 purchase.

No gloves, pot or gloves in this kit, But they are cheaper when sourced separately.

I like the 1/1 mix as it’s easy to do in any pot. under almost any circumstances.

If you have a proper model shop one that stocks balsa in easy range they will have small packs.

That's a casting resin for arty-farty work.

As others have suggested the West "Mini pack" (300g )or "Junior pack" (600 g)

or the SP Resins "Handipack" (375ml)

Available mail order from suppliers such as East Coast Fibreglass Supplies or CFS

Check the websites to see whats included in the packs.
