The galvanising is wearing off my rigging screws and I am too skint to buy new ones or, better, bronze ones.
So out with the Hammerite which is fine for the bodies and forks and the threads can get a dipping in lanolin. but no good for the well-used nuts and bolts.
Does anyone have a source for hot dipped galv nuts and bolts, 5/16 by 1 1/2"
The only ones I can find on the high st. are nickel plated.
If anyone has six 1/2" bronze rigging screws they don't want...

Hi, I use a company called Dinstock in Telford. Google should find them. I've had hundreds of fixings from them to help with the restoration of my wooden canal boat. They are inexpensive and do a good delivery service. They even do washers. Their nuts and bolts are overthreaded so the galvanising doesn't stop them running together well.

I have always had a very good service from these people and they deal with galvanised even given their name. All my chain plate bolts and nuts came from them:

Anglia Stainless Ltd
Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate
Bury St. Edmunds
Suffolk
IP31 2AR
Telephone: 01359 251414

Again use Anglia Stainless as above or there was a company called Bermondsey Galvanised Nuts and Bolts a few years ago which I have used.
