Source for BUKH DV 10 filters near Fareham.

My engine is a DV10 not a DV20 & the site alohol2 has mentioned lists at least three different types so it is back to the drawing board.
My handbook states "OK-SF4." Anybody know the direct equivalent to that that can be purchased directly from a motor factor type place.(there is one up Newgate lane by ASDA's that would be handy) Or will they be able to make the comparison?
By the time you add postage to Ebay's already inflated prices (at least by comparison with that ASAP site) they start to look pretty expensive so it will be on my bike for me.

Anybody know of one?

I need the oil filter & might as well buy the fuel filter while I am at it & am wondering if there are cheap automotive equivalents available?

Try the BUKH dealers in Dorset, address and phone no. will come up if you google BUKH Marine Diesel Engines. Also, type in Bukh marine diesel engine filters on ebay - they are called Marine and Leisure Services and run by Westerly Sailor - these seem the cheapest. I have often used both of them - good service.

Hi there again,
I changed my primary and secondary fuel filters today. Everything went to plan, almost. Reinstalling the primary CAV. type filter was a little more tricky than normal, however, I managed to put it back together, then I changed the secondary , OK. rechecked everything and then turned the tap on, and waited, and waited. The glass bowl failed to fill. Checked diesel level, opened bleed screw - possible air lock - still nothing. Decided to take the primary apart in case I made a mistake in refitting. All seemed OK. Then looked at the filter again and compared with the previous one. That was it! The replacement was not compatible - I had bought it from a motor factor shop, who double checked and said it was a replacement. No it was not. Luckily, I had another, this time a Fram a genuine replacement from a marine online shop. Lesson learned - thank goodness I was in harbour and not out at sea.
The moral is to make sure you go to a reliable dealer in the first place. Thought this was apt. regarding the question above.

Lancelot.

This is the first diesel engine I have owned & I have never looked closely at the fuel filters so I hardly know how to comment but I would have thought something as simple as a filter had little to go wrong with it.An inlet & an outlet after the fuel has been filtered.Surely an incompatibility problem would have been glaring?
I shall proceed with caution. For now it is the engine oil filter that I will replace & the one already on there does not look like those Fram filters so it must be possible to interchange them.Like I said I shall proceed with caution but I am very hesitant to pay inflated prices just because something is described as being for the marine market & somebody has acquired what looks like a monopoly position.
