We are moored in the lee of some woods and next to a Stella. The birdies are tweet tweeting and the Stella going chuckle chuckle clinker clinker.
Peace doesn't mean silence?

That's why I change my clinker wooden boat for a carvel wooden boat. Now the Moody 31 - could that stop slapping overnight on the neighbouring mooring please - slap, slap, slap for ever slap. Plastic boat - t'is a curse them plastic boats. At least clinker had a chuckle....

At home there's almost no noise at night, on the boat the noise of the tide running or waves slapping a few inches from my ear seems loud but never intrusive, some in marinas go round tying up other people's halyards but those sounds are part of boating to me.

Give me a slapper any time. Wood is so yesterday :p:o

We had already left Ipswich earlier that day, so no slappers available. Wooden boats are very in tune with todays thinking, they are totally biodegradable.
Tonight we are anchored by some different woods, however there is a heronry so not such pleasant bird noises.
Also, they were harvesting mussels with a mini tractor for a few hours. Not so peaceful, but better than being in the office☺
