Hi I've got a Pajuro 3000 generator which drives me mad! It is by far the most reliable bit of kit that I've ever owned, but the noise vibration is a bit over the top. Does anyone have any ideas of how to soundproof it without spending the earth?

I have one too, (4KVA) doesn't yours have an acoustic cover? Mine is acceptable. It is mounted in the stern cabin, in its own cabinet, and I don't choose to stay in the stern cabin when it is running, however, close the door and move into the saloon, and it is perfectly acceptable.

yes it has the cover, but the way our boat is laid out means that you're on top of it all the time. The accoustic cover does kill a lot of the sound, just not enough!

Bought a Honda .. Had it in the Pulpit charging the batteries now its in the workshop waiting to find another use .. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Bought a Kipor .. Have it in the cockpit charging the batteries and running the 240v electrics. Just as quiet as the <word removed> and less than ½ the price (over 1000 hrs on mine so far so quite reliable and long lived).

No need - it is so quiet one can hardly notice it running /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
