Got their mail shot today with Scratch and Win card. "You've won £2.00 off tickets to the Southampton boat show."

To avoid their £6.00 per hour number I dialled 0115 912-9236.

Guess what! The £2.00 comes off the gate price not the book early price. Then they add back £1.25 for "processing and postage" so we are back to £13.25 compared with the regular book early price of £13.75. All pretty pointless really. Don't know why they bother.

Then I thought of taking their combo offer for SBS and LBS 2006 but not possible to use the scratch card with this offer at all.

Such is life. Booked and saved my 50p anyway but why quote £2.00 saving when in reality it is £0.50p! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Interestingly (no not really, but WTF) the spa salesmen, patented vegetable chopper man, the camera shop and the wine subscription clubs seem to be there year after year.

So I guess they make money????

The spa man is making so much money, he is the sponsor for SIBS and LIBS this year.

But you have to buy on the night, 'cos he his manager has given him a special deal!

I hope the German guy is there this year, the one who sells that bit of hose with a thingy on the end to pump stuff with, just lift it up and down in the liquid, you know the one I mean! I used one earlier this year to transfer fuel, it worked great, everyone should have one. Thats the only reason I'm going!

Got my SBS mailshot today as well. The savings are not worth the effort.
However in with the same post I received a magazine called "Dream" which is all about Honda. As sponsors of the SBS they invite readers to call them [0870 143 2206]. They are offering the Honda Day Package, which includes discounted ticket, access to hospitality, Honda lanyard, ticket holder and free Honda ice cream all for £10. It is available 19-23rd September.
Thats a much better deal.

They are offering what they call the Americas Cup Experience for £50
I think that includes show entrance as well!
Sounds like a good reason to join!
