I've just had a quote from an insurance company called Holdfast (never heard of them!) but they are underwritten by Allianz. Does this really mean anything? The quote is a couple of hundred quid cheaper than Bishop Skinner with the same T's & C's

Re: Sorry, another really boring insurance question

Based in Australia;

"Holdfast Insurance Brokers was established in South Australia in 1982 and is privately owned.

Since then, HIB has grown from a staff of two to over forty, with a turnover of more than $25 million each year.

This growth has been driven by HIB's professionalism and dedication to quality service, which is behind everything we do.

With offices in Adelaide, Christies Beach an Darwin, HIB has become a much respected insurance broker, providing a wide range of insurance products to clients across Australia.

."

It's not easy to find anything about their balance sheet on their website, but they are regulated:
"Holdfast Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd holds a current Australian Financial Services License Number 234526. "

If you wait till our Oz brethren wake up, and ask again, you might get some replies
