Haven't been on this site for ages, how you all keeping?

My boats been out of the water for the winter period since November 4th and won't be going back in till April 2nd. Been down to the hard and done most of the jobs that needed doing, got my ears (and other bits) frozen solid in the process and am now mind numbingly bored with another two months to go till lift in.
I was just wondering , what do you's lot do on these long, dark, cold dreary evenings?
Go on, give me a few ideas on what to do with myself.... Please.

Syd :)

Put the boat back in the water and get boating! Had a lovely day out on the Solent. Yep, it was cold but you dress accordingly. Can't understand why people spend so much money on a boat and have it out the water for 6 months. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

this mite help a bit to at least raise a smile!

A man who shovelled snow for an hour to clear a space for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a woman had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her dead. (I am not saying this is right... but I understand...It's a Chicago thing'...)

If you run your car into a ditch, don't panic. Four men in a four-wheel drive pickup truck with a tow chain will be along shortly. Don't try to help them, just stay out of their way. This is what they live for.

Don't be worried at not understanding what people are saying. They can't understand you either.

If there is the prediction of the slightest chance of even the smallest accumulation of snow, your presence is required at the local grocery store. It doesn't matter whether you need anything or not. You just have to go there.

Think our forcasts are sometimes not very clear

STRESS MANAGEMENT..........

1. Picture yourself near a stream.

2. Birds are singing in the crisp, cool mountain air.

3. Nothing can bother you here; no one knows this secret place.

4. You are in total seclusion from that place called the world.

5. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade
of serenity.

6. The water is clear.

7. You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you're
holding under the water.

8. There now, feeling better?

Hi Syd, good to hear from you again. If you like a good read, go to your library and get a copy of "Shrimpy" by Shane Acton. There is a follow up called "Shrimpy Sails Again" - but read them in order.

It's about a guy who knew nothing about boats. He bought a 17ft wooden sailing boat for £400 and was given a plastic sextant. He sailed down the river Cam and then, without any knowledge or tuition, sailed it around the world and into the record books - I'll say no more. Just go get it!
